Armed robbery suspects arrested in Detroit after car hits curb during chase, becomes disabled

Three people were arrested in Detroit in connection with an armed robbery that happened in Redford Township on Thursday, July 31, according to state police. (Michigan State Police)

Suspects connected to an armed robbery in Redford Township were taken into custody after leading police on a chase into Detroit.

Redford Township officers responded to a report of an armed robbery on Thursday, July 31, and when they located the suspect vehicle, it fled.

Michigan State Police’s Trooper 2 helicopter tracked the pursuit into Detroit, and the suspect vehicle eventually hit a curb and became disabled.

All of the people inside the vehicle ran away, and three were taken into custody by Detroit officers.

“Another great job by ground units and aviation,” said Michigan State Police Lt. Mike Shaw. “More tired bad guys off to jail and off the streets of our community. The best part was there were no injuries to the community or police.”

Police also released information about a stolen Jeep that the MSP helicopter tracked from Redford Township to Detroit. Two people were arrested in that case.
