Intersection of Brown, Joslyn roads in Oakland County to close for about 2 weeks -- What to know

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – A busy intersection in Oakland County will close for about two weeks.

The intersection of Brown Road and Joslyn Road at the Auburn Hills, Orion Township border will be closed off to traffic beginning Aug. 11, 2025, for railroad crossing repairs.

The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) announced on Friday that it issued a permit to Canadian National Railway to close the intersection.

It’s expected to reopen on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2025.

Detours

RCOC provided the following detours for drivers:

  • Joslyn Road: Waldon Road to Baldwin Road to Walton Boulevard, back to Joslyn Road and vice versa.
  • Brown Road: Giddings Road to Waldon Road to Baldwin Road, back to Brown Road and vice versa.
