PONTIAC, Mich. – The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office is disputing Stellantis’ claim that its custom-made mechanical bull was stolen over the weekend.
According to Stellantis, the Bucking HEMI was stolen Saturday, Aug. 9, after Roadkill Nights, a Ram-sponsored event in Pontiac.
“This is bull****,” said Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis. “The search is officially on and we won’t stop searching until we get him back.”
However, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said detectives learned the theft never occurred, and it was just in the possession of people at the company.
“I find this to be very frustrating and a tremendous waste of valuable investigative time,” Bouchard said. “Now, we’re pivoting to see if a crime was committed by the filing of a false police report.”
The Bucking HEMI was introduced just two months earlier at Michigan International Speedway, marking the automaker’s return to NASCAR.
The case remains under investigation.
