PONTIAC, Mich. – The last person charged in the death of an Oakland County sheriff’s deputy has been sentenced.
Raymone Debose, of Clinton Township, had pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in July. He was a minor when the shooting occurred.
On Friday, Aug. 22, Debose received a prison sentence of 33 to 60 years, plus an additional two years for a felony firearm charge. A jail credit of 260 days will be applied to the firearm sentence.
Background
Deputy Bradley Reckling was shot and killed in the line of duty on June 22, 2024, while working with an auto theft unit tracking a stolen car in Detroit.
The vehicle had been stolen from Red Oaks Waterpark. Reckling was shot multiple times while following the car.

Reckling is survived by his wife and their four children.
Before the sentencing, Reckling’s mother and wife, Jacqueline Reckling, addressed the judge.
“Brad was so much more than his uniform. He was our everything. Brad was an exceptional man. And while I may be biased, I can say with absolute certainty that I’m not just saying that out of love. I’m saying it because it’s the proven truth. From the moment we met in high school. I knew that he had a selfless heart and an unwavering instinct to put others before himself,” Jacqueline Reckling said. “Brad’s death was not an accident. It wasn’t the result of youthful recklessness or poor judgment. The defendant took a gun, aimed it at Brad, and pulled the trigger, fully intending to end his life. His age does not change that fact. The defendant has brought nothing good into this world, only darkness. His criminal history is evidence of a pattern, not a mistake. Nothing can ever make up for what he did. But delivering a sentence that reflects the gravity of his actions would have been a start.”
Debose, Marquis Goins, of Detroit and Karim Moore, of Clinton Township, were arrested and charged in connection with Reckling’s killing.
Debose was the only one of the three teens charged with murder.
Goins was sentenced on July 30 to eight to 30 years for carjacking, two years for felony firearm, five to 20 years for conducting a criminal enterprise, and one to five years for receiving and concealing a motor vehicle.
Moore was sentenced in May after he pleaded guilty to the charges of conducting a criminal enterprise, receiving and concealing a stolen motor vehicle and felony firearm.
