NOVI, Mich. – A Facebook post about a cougar roaming Oakland County is going viral.
A Novi woman claims she spotted the cougar at West Road and West Park Drive near a wetland area.

Commenters on the post are backing her claim, with some recalling sightings last week and years ago.
The cougar, described as smaller in size with a long tail and black tip, was estimated to weigh around 40 pounds, suggesting it might be a juvenile.
The area where it was spotted has a large wetland, which could be a suitable habitat for wildlife, including cougars.
The woman reported the sighting to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR,) which tracks cougar sightings.
The sightings have mostly been in the Upper Peninsula, but one was recently near Lansing.
Novi police have no reports yet.
