Child killed, multiple injured in fatal crash in Detroit

DETROIT – A car crash on Detroit’s east side early Saturday morning has claimed the life of a young girl and left five others injured.

The crash occurred shortly after 12:30 a.m. near Gratiot and August avenues when a Buick Lacrosse was hit by a Lincoln MKZ during a left turn.

All occupants of both vehicles were taken to the hospital.

The young girl in the lacrosse died from her injuries, while an adult woman and a teenager remain in critical condition.

The two adults who were in the Lincoln MKZ are stable.

Another victim found outside the vehicles is also in critical condition. Police told Local 4 she was inside the Lacrosse at the time of the accident.
