WARREN, Mich. – A stretch of 8 Mile Road was closed early Monday morning as crews battled a building fire in Warren.
The fire happened just before 5 a.m. on Aug. 25 at a vacant two-story building on 8 Mile Road between Ryan and Mound roads.
Warren police closed 8 Mile Road just west of Mound Road to traffic while fire crews worked to extinguish the blaze and searched for anyone inside. Nearby buildings were evacuated as a precaution.
Firefighters had the fire under control by 5:30 a.m. Adjacent buildings experienced only smoke and water damage.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
