DETROIT – Ex-husband Mario Dewayne Green, 53, of Detroit, and alleged accomplice Anthony Lee-Lamont Barnett, 54, of Detroit, have been charged in the fatal shooting of Latricia Green Brown, 40, inside Henry Ford Hospital.
The incident occurred on Friday (Aug. 22) at 9:45 p.m. when Green allegedly entered Henry Ford Hospital located in the 2700 block of West Grand Boulevard in Detroit armed with a gun.
Police said Green knew that he was prohibited from coming to the hospital because of his past stalking and harassment of Green at her job.
It is further alleged that the 53-year-old man went to his Brown’s office located in the basement of the hospital and fired his gun, fatally shooting Green before leaving the scene in a white 2011 Dodge Charger, heading north on the Lodge Freeway.
Police said the hospital was placed on lockdown status, and officials arrived at the scene shortly after the shooting.
The 40-year-old woman was pronounced dead a short time later.
The Wayne County Medical Examiner determined that the cause of death was a close-range gunshot wound.
Green was charged with first-degree premeditated murder, discharge of a firearm in a building causing death, aggravated stalking, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and four counts of felony firearm.
The 53-year-old man was remanded to jail.
Green’s probable cause conference is on Sept. 4, 2025, and his preliminary examination is on Sept. 11, 2025.
Barnett was also charged on Aug. 25, 2025, for allegedly aiding Green in fleeing from the scene of the homicide of Brown.
Investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of Barnett on August 23, 2025.
Barnett has been charged with accessory after the fact and lying to a police officer.
The 54-year-old man was arraigned on Monday after 4:45 p.m. in 36th District Court and received a $100,000 cash bond with a GPS tether and a curfew of 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
His probable cause conference is on Sept. 4, 2025, and his preliminary examination is on Sept. 11, 2025.
