‘Super drunk’ driver hits Livingston County Sheriff’s vehicle during traffic stop

No injuries reported

HARTLAND, Mich. – A driver was arrested for drunk driving after reportedly hitting a Livingston County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle.

It happened Aug. 14, just before midnight.

According to authorities, a deputy was conducting a traffic stop on US-23 near Clyde Road in Hartland when the impaired driver struck the cruiser. The deputy was outside of the vehicle at the time of the crash and no one was injured.

The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated after a breath test reportedly showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.20%.

Michigan law considers drivers “super drunk” if they have a BAC of 0.17% or higher. Under Michigan’s Impaired Driving Law, “super drunk” drivers face increased penalties for driving under the influence.
