WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. – A man has died after drowning in Pleasant Lake in West Bloomfield on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025.
At 6:00 p.m., the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team, along with the West Bloomfield Fire Department, responded to reports of a drowning at the lake located off Walnut Lake and Halsted Road.

When emergency teams arrived, they discovered bystanders had already pulled the man, who is from West Bloomfield, from the water.
The man had been found floating face down and unresponsive. He was not wearing a life jacket at the time of the incident, police said.
He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.
The Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
The Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
