Oakland County motorcyclist critically injured after car turns into path

Both drivers hospitalized

PONTIAC, Mich. – A 54-year-old from Pontiac critically injured a motorcyclist when they struck him with a car.

It happened at about 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 1, in Pontiac, near the intersection of Huron and Chippewa streets. According to authorities, the driver of a Buick Regal was taking a left onto Chippewa Street when they turned into the path of the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, a 31-year-old man from Pontiac, was thrown from the bike and landed in the road.

He was rushed to McLaren Oakland Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

The driver of the Buick was also taken to the hospital, but they are expected to be OK.

The investigation is ongoing.
