Inspections include checking transmission structures and equipment for damage or wear and identifying vegetation hazards.

ITC, the company conducting the inspections, said the procedure is routine and residents should not be alarmed if they see low-flying helicopters.

After completing inspections in the rest of the state, Lapeer, Livingston, Macomb, Oakland, St. Clair, Monroe, Washtenaw, and Wayne counties will be inspected from Sept. 24 through Oct. 3.

The schedule may change depending on weather conditions.
