Oakland County man charged with murder of sister, nephew denied bond

Suspect pleads not guilty

HAZEL PARK, Mich. – The man accused of killing his sister and 12-year-old nephew was denied bond.

Ladamien Keith Hill, 43, sat in a Hazel Park courtroom Friday, Sept. 5, showing little emotion as he was charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of his sister, 41-year-old Linda Hill, and her 12-year-old son, Kardi Jackson.

The two were found dead at about 4 p.m. on Labor Day inside their Hazel Park home. Police confirmed they were found with their throats slashed.

Linda’s uncle, who lives in the basement, reported hearing noises and discovering the bodies, prompting him to call 911. Surveillance footage revealed a red Lincoln at the scene around the time of the murders, which police said they found with blood inside.

After police were unable to locate Ladamien Hill to inform him of the incident, family members said he entered the home uninvited after police cleared the scene. He reportedly said, “Forgive me,” then went to Linda’s bedroom to lay naked in her bed for several minutes and left.

Ladamien Hill was taken into custody Tuesday, Sept. 2, at a home in Pontiac, where police said they clothing he reportedly wore on the day of the murders with blood on them. They also reportedly found a list of items he planned to pack in order to flee.

He was arraigned on Friday, Sept. 5, on two counts of first-degree murder and pleaded not guilty.

Police said Hill has a lengthy criminal history dating back to 2004, with multiple convictions including controlled substance possession, assault, domestic violence, and felony firearm offenses. He also reportedly has an active warrant for an OWI in 2019 and two outstanding arrest warrants for failing to appear in court.

He was denied bond.
