MONROE COUNTY, Mich. – A Monroe man died Sunday evening after crashing into several cars and a tree.
The crash happened at around 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 7 in the 3100 block of Fourth Street in Frenchtown Township.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Michael Procy, 75, was driving his pickup truck eastbound on Fourth Street when he drove off the roadway and struck several cars and posts.
Procy then reentered the roadway. However, his truck drifted off a second time, striking a tree. The 75-year-old man was ejected from his truck.
His truck continued to travel, rotating counterclockwise and came to a rest on private property.
Procy died at the scene. The sheriff’s office said he was wearing a seatbelt, and multiple airbags in his truck deployed during the crash.
It’s not known if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
