Just after 7 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, police responded to the Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital after receiving a report of a shooting in the parking garage.

The shooting was called in as an active shooter situation, and the hospital went into lockdown.

Robert Paljusevic, also 21, is accused of firing at least five shots at his 25-year-old coworker, striking him twice in the arm. In July, he was bound over to circuit court.

While police were investigating the hospital shooting, they questioned friends and acquaintances of the alleged shooter, including Stolaj.

A search warrant was obtained for Stolaj’s phone, and when they searched it, investigators found child sexually abusive materials.

His probable cause conference was held in the 42-1 District Court on Tuesday, Sept. 9.

During the hearing, Stolaj waived his right to a preliminary examination and was bound over to circuit court, according to the prosecutor’s office.

The prosecutor’s office said Stolaj is out on a $100,000 cash bond.

As part of his bond conditions, he must wear a GPS tether and cannot have any contact with anyone under 18.

He is scheduled to be arraigned in circuit court on Monday, Sept. 29, 2025.

“Child exploitation is among the most serious crimes we prosecute, and our office will continue to pursue justice to protect children and safeguard our community,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido.
