4Warn Weather – The timing of rain for the weekend is moving up in Metro Detroit. Summer is winding down just as our temperatures are heating up.

Thursday

Highs on Thursday are expected to be in the upper 70s to low 80s.

Weekend forecast

We stay in the 80s through Saturday, when a chance for rain cools us down just a touch. Dry conditions persist until Saturday evening.

New model data suggests the rain will now move in around 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. This means it moves out a bit faster on Sunday than earlier anticipated.

If you’re planning on a Detroit Lions tailgate, it now appears that the only chance of rain would be in the morning.

Otherwise, the skies will continue to clear throughout the day. The Climate Prediction Center is forecasting highs to be above average through at least Sept. 24.
