FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The Farmington Hills Police Department has arrested a man linked to two assault incidents at the Kroger store on Middlebelt Road.

On Sept. 5, 2025, a woman reported that while shopping at Kroger, a man later identified as Deon Otis Grant, 20, of Southfield, put an unknown liquid onto the back of her pants.

On Sept. 8, police say Grant returned to the same Kroger and was recognized by store staff, who called 911.

Before officers arrived, Grant again put an unknown liquid onto another woman’s pants, officers said.

Officers arrested Grant as he tried to flee.

The investigation was submitted to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office, which authorized a two-count warrant for fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct -- one count for each victim.

Grant was arraigned Sept. 10, pled not guilty, and was released on a $10,000 personal bond.

Conditions of his release prohibit him from contacting the victims or returning to the Kroger store.

Police are currently testing the two pairs of pants to determine what was on them.

His next court date is at 9 a.m. on Sept. 19, 2025.
