WAYNE COUNTY, Mich – A Wayne man has been charged for allegedly shooting a man after following his ex-girlfriend.
The shooting happened at around 11 p.m. on Sept. 7 on Reed Street, near Judd and Sumpter roads in Sumpter Township.

According to police, Dominic Michael McBride, 22, allegedly followed his ex-girlfriend and another man from a movie theater in Canton.
McBride reportedly followed the couple for about 18 miles to the home on Reed Street.
The couple told a person in the home, a 40-year-old man, that they were being followed, leading to the 40-year-old man leaving the home and telling McBride to leave.
After a short encounter, McBride allegedly shot the 40-year-old man from his car.
When police arrived at the scene, they took McBride into custody. The handgun believed to be used in the shooting was recovered.
Police said the 40-year-old man was shot twice, once in the left upper chest and a graze wound to the right cheek. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
McBride was charged with assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, assault with a dangerous weapon and felony firearm.
His bond was set $500,000 with a GPS tether. He is expected to appear in court on Sept. 24.
