3 taken to hospital after crash on Michigan Avenue in Canton Township

CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Three people were taken to the hospital after a crash involving two cars and a motorcycle on Michigan Avenue in Canton Township.

The crash happened at 8:01 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, on Michigan Avenue at Lilley Road.

Police said a gray Mini Cooper Countryman driven by a 36-year-old Ypsilanti man was heading west on Michigan Avenue when it crossed the median and crashed into a blue Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The motorcycle was heading east on Michigan Avenue and being driven by a 52-year-old Monroe man, according to authorities.

Police said the first collision caused the motorcycle to crash into a maroon Nissan Maxima, which was driven by a 51-year-old Ypsilanti man. The Maxima was also heading east on Michigan Avenue at the time.

People from both cars and the motorcycle were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, police said. No additional details about their injuries were revealed.

Officers from the Canton Police Department continue to investigate the crash. They don’t believe alcohol was a factor.
