EASTPOINTE, Mich. – Police have arrested 52-year-old Andrew Logan Williams in connection with the sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl in Eastpointe.
It happened on Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. -- a day when the girl had no school.

She and her family told police that it happened at William’s home on Crescentwood Avenue.
Officers searched the home, but Williams had already fled in his car, they said.
He was arrested 24 hours after the assault on Sept. 23.
Eastpointe police -- along with the Detroit Police Department, New York State Police, and federal marshals -- worked together to arrest Williams in New York, about half an hour south of Buffalo.
Police confirmed Williams is a convicted sex offender with a prior offense conviction in Wisconsin.
“It is extremely disturbing -- the fact that we have a young girl that’s walking on the sidewalk and gets approached and then goes through the traumatic experience that she had to go through -- thankfully she was able to leave the house and get to a family member so she could contact us,” Eastpointe Police Chief Corey Haines said.
Police said they recovered other items from the house that could lead to additional investigations, raising the potential for more victims.
There is currently no timeline on the extradition process.
Authorities are urging parents to be extremely vigilant about their children’s safety.
