‘Feels good’: Utility pole mess cleared for Pontiac homeowner after investigation exposes 3rd party error

The company came out on Sept. 24, in the morning, and removed every single pole one by one

PONTIAC, Mich. – What a difference 24 hours makes, especially if Local 4 is involved.

We informed you on Tuesday (Sept. 23) about a Pontiac homeowner frustrated with DTE leaving 20 utility poles on his lawn.

After the story aired, all 20 utility poles were gone, and the homeowner couldn’t be happier.

“Feels good. Feels like a victory,” said Devin Hall.

After holding DTE accountable, we were able to find a solution to Hall’s frustrating problem.

The company came out on Wednesday, Sept. 24, in the morning and removed every single pole one by one.

“They’re replacing all the poles in the neighborhood. So they say. So the whole issue with the poles being dropped off is that it’s a 3rd party, and they didn’t do the job right, and it made them look really bad,” Hall said.

Exposing the headache they caused with Hall’s lawn as a temporary storage space, we helped uncover an issue that likely would have gone unnoticed if we hadn’t stepped in.

DTE reached out to Hall to also make things right.

“Between Local 4 and the person that reached out to me from DTE, they were able to rectify everything,” Hall told us.

Devin said he will finally be enjoying his lawn.

“I thank you guys, Local 4. I mean, you guys came out here within the same day. You guys are great,” Hall said.
