Boil water advisory issued for Novi, some schools closed following water main break

NOVI, Mich. – A boil water advisory has been issued and schools are closed in Novi following a water main break Thursday morning.

The water main break happened on 14 Mile Road, just west of M-5, in the city of Novi on Sept. 25, 2025.

City officials said the process to restore the water main could take several hours.

According to the city, all affected areas in the map below will be under a boil water advisory.

As a result of the water main break, multiple schools are closing.

The Novi Water Department is investigating the issue.
