Wimberly was sentenced in August to two years in jail after he pleaded guilty to demanding $100,000 in bribes.
According to authorities, Alsenad falsely claimed ignorance of Wimberly’s corrupt solicitation, demand, and agreement to accept $100,000 to help an investor acquire city-owned land in 2022.
At the time Alsenad spoke to the FBI, he reportedly knew Wimberly had agreed to accept cash bribes in exchange for assistance in obtaining the parcel of land for the developer.
The FBI intervened before the property transfer could occur.
On Thursday, Sept. 25, Alsenad pleaded guilty to making a false statement or representation to a department or agency of the United States. He faces a possible five years in jail.
