According to authorities, a City of Detroit road maintenance crew was working on the right shoulder of southbound I-75 when a Buick Enclave rear-ended a pickup truck that was part of the work convoy and rolled over.

One of the road workers was reportedly hit by both the Buick and the pickup truck. He was taken to a hospital by other road workers.

Police believe the driver of the Buick -- identified as an 81-year-old man from Mount Clemens -- fell asleep while driving. He was taken to a hospital for minor injuries and is expected to be OK.

The southbound lanes of I-75 and the I-94 ramps to it were closed for several hours as crews worked to clear the crash.
