Michigan man arrested with nearly pound of cocaine following drug bust

Subsequent search warrants resulted in the seizure of 4 pistols, additional cocaine, and evidence of distribution

ALPENA, Mich. – An Alpena man has been arrested with nearly a pound of cocaine following a drug bust.

The incident occurred on Monday (Sept. 29) following a lengthy investigation by the Huron Undercover Narcotics Team (HUNT).

Police said 56-year-old Troy Wardlaw was arrested on Sept. 29 with nearly one pound of suspected cocaine, which was being trafficked to the Alpena area.

Officials said subsequent search warrants resulted in the seizure of four pistols, additional suspected cocaine, and evidence of the distribution of narcotics.

Wardlaw was arraigned on Oct. 1 in the 88th District Court of Alpena County on one count of possession with intent to deliver cocaine (50-499 grams).

HUNT was assisted by the MSP Alpena Post, MSP Strike Team Investigative Narcotics Group (STING), and the Alpena Police Department.
