Warmth holds for now, but sweater weather is just around the corner in Metro Detroit

Friday, Saturday highs in lower 80s

It looks like Thursday will be the last day in the 70s, as we head into the 80s again starting Friday. A dry stable stretch ahead as a ridge of high pressure draws in some very warm air. 4Warn Weather – It looks like Thursday will be the last day in the 70s, as we head into the 80s again starting Friday.

A dry stable stretch ahead as a ridge of high pressure draws in some very warm air.

Highs will be just below record levels for the next several days.

For those fall-loving folks, rain followed by a significant cool down is now in sight.

Next week

Tuesday evening, a cold front will begin moving through, bringing much-needed rain.

Behind the front, temps will drop into the 60s for highs by Wednesday, and some areas could go as low as the 30s at night.

Could we finally be getting into sweater weather season?

According to the 6-10 and 8-14 day outlooks from the Climate Prediction Center, temperatures are expected to remain above average through mid-October.
