Crash on westbound I-96 in Livingston County causes lane closures, injuries reported

MARION TOWNSHIP, Mich. – All lanes are closed on westbound I-96 at the Pinckney Road exit in Marion Township due to a crash.

Early reports indicate the crash involved two semi-trucks and one car, but the cause of the crash is still unknown.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department is leading the investigation, with help from the Michigan State Police Brighton Post.

Police say two people were injured, and at least one might be in critical condition.

The roadway is expected to remain closed for an extended period while emergency responders and investigators work at the scene.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes until the crash is cleared and lanes reopen.
