Frost advisory issued for most areas of Southeast Michigan on Thursday. Here’s what to expect

Advisory in effect from midnight to 9 a.m. Thursday

A frost advisory has been issued for most of Southeast Michigan until 9 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025. (WDIV)

A frost advisory is in effect for most of Southeast Michigan from midnight until 9 a.m. Thursday morning, as some patchy frost is possible, with temperatures in the low to mid-30s.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Mainly clear skies. Cold temperatures. Patchy frost possible outside Metro Detroit. Low: 39.

THURSDAY: Mostly sunny skies. High: 61.

THURSDAY NIGHT: Mainly clear skies. Low: 40.

FRIDAY: Partly cloudy skies. High: 67.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy skies, a chance of rain showers. Low: 45.

After we finally broke into some sunshine as we worked through our Wednesday, we are looking at a cold night as we look ahead into the overnight hours and into Thursday Morning.

A Frost Advisory is in effect for all counties but Wayne County from 12:00 AM until 9:00 AM Thursday.

While we will drop into the upper 30s around Metro Detroit, outside of the metro, we could see low to mid-30s under mainly clear skies.

So, if you have some of those fall plants outside, make sure you bring them in or cover them up if you leave them outside.

Sunshine continues looking ahead into our Thursday. High temperatures remain below average, only into the lower 60s by the time we get to Thursday afternoon.

For the end of the week, we will bring more cloud cover into the forecast ahead of our next chance of rain that will move into the forecast.

Expect a mixture of sunshine and clouds looking ahead into Friday, before more clouds move into the region late Friday night. Daytime high temperatures heading for the upper 60s will stick around into the start of the weekend.

On Saturday, we will bring the chance of rain showers into the region thanks to an upper-level area of low pressure moving into the region. We will keep the cool temperatures in the forecast, looking ahead into the start of the weekend, expect high temperatures to remain in the upper 60s by the afternoon.

The sunshine will return by the end of the weekend, on Sunday. Mostly sunny skies can be expected. High temperatures are warming back up into the upper 60s and lower 70s by Sunday afternoon.

As of right now, it looks like we bring a little more cloud cover into the forecast, looking ahead into the start of next week on Monday, but it remains dry. High temperatures will remain in the lower 70s by the time we get to Monday afternoon.

Expect a little more cloud cover to work into the region by the time we get to next Tuesday. The above-average temperatures will stick around into the first part of next week as well. High temperatures will remain in the lower 70s by Tuesday afternoon. And we will also keep that filtered sunshine in the forecast for the middle of next week as well. High temperatures are expected to remain in the lower 70s by Wednesday afternoon.
