Hot, humid Friday with chance of isolated storms ahead of the weekend -- Here’s what you can expect
After some sunshine working into the picture along with the heat and humidity into Friday afternoon, we’ve watched some scattered showers and thunderstorms develop across the region, and we will keep those into the forecast as we head into the mid to late evening hours tonight.
Here’s when to expect rain as heat continues in Metro Detroit
The dry weather continues to cross southeastern Michigan as we work throughout our Fourth of July holiday, but that sunshine is going to come to an end. Expect showers and thunderstorms to develop as we had through the late evening and into the overnight hours tonight. A few of those could be on the stronger side with gusty winds, some hail, and heavy rainfall. Overnight lows are dropping into the lower 70s tonight with a south wind at 5-15 MPH.
Here’s how long Metro Detroit will continue to heat up ahead of rain showers
After plenty of sunshine over the last few days with lower humidity value sticking around, we are going to bring back some of that summer heat and humidity as we head into the weekend, and it also comes with a chance of rain showers for the second half of the weekend.

After a stormy start to our Thursday with showers and thunderstorms, some of them leaving some damage behind over portions of southeastern Michigan this morning, we are dealing with more heat for yet another day.
