EASTPOINTE, Mich. – A parent was arrested after allegedly threatening to “air out” Pleasantview Elementary School in Eastpointe following a dispute over his child missing snack time.
UPDATE: Father charged in Macomb County snack time dispute
Eastpointe officers were called to the school at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, after the parent confronted a teacher during dismissal, demanding an explanation for the missed snack time.
The situation quickly escalated as the parent began yelling, cursing, and making violent threats in front of staff, students, and other parents.
Police say the suspect repeatedly threatened to return the next day and “air the place out,” a slang term meaning to shoot up the school, alarming everyone present.
Eastpointe’s road patrol, School Resource Officer, Detective Bureau, and Special Investigative Unit responded promptly, arresting the suspect within two hours.
The case is now under review by the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office, which will decide on appropriate charges.
