DETROIT – A new coffee spot is set to open in Detroit’s West Village this weekend.
Washed Up Coffee is opening at 8016 Kercheval Avenue, inside La Fonda Street, a Latin American restaurant, on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025.

Long-time baristas Emily Potter and Amélie Boulanger are opening the multi-roaster cafe as a place for guests to find quality coffee in a community-oriented space.
Washed Up Coffee will have a changing selection of specialty roasts and serve breakfast burritos from La Fonda, along with a rotating pastry menu.
The coffee shop will celebrate with a grand opening party and “Latte Art Throwdown” on Sunday, Nov. 2. Doors will open at 6 p.m., with the competition starting at 7 p.m.
Everyone is welcome, from coffee professionals to enthusiasts, and can expect a “lively barista competition, community mingling, music, specialty pours, and a showcase of latte-art creativity,” according to a release.
Washed Up Coffee will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
