DETROIT – A Wayne County man is facing multiple federal charges after allegedly having sexually explicit conversations with numerous children online.
Christopher Gregory Pappas faces multiple federal charges, including coercion and enticement of a minor and receipt of child pornography.

A criminal complaint was filed in federal court on Oct. 23, 2025, against Pappas.
On Aug. 8 and Aug. 10, 2025, a victim contacted the FBI National Threat Operations Center three times to report that they were on a website that allowed users to connect with each other anonymously and met Pappas.
The conversation moved to Discord. The victim stated in the initial complaint that on Aug. 8, 2025, Pappas sent a sexually explicit photo to the victim, allegedly believing the victim was a 15-year-old girl. He also allegedly engaged in sexually explicit conversations with the victim.
On Aug. 25, 2025, the victim provided screenshots of the conversation with Pappas. The images showed portions of a conversation between the victim and Pappas on Aug. 8.
Federal authorities said the victim used a screen name with a female’s name to communicate with Pappas.
Within the screenshots, there were sexually explicit conversations between Pappas and the victim.
Pappas allegedly asked the victim sexually explicit questions and asked the victim to send pictures of them in a bikini.
The victim told authorities that Pappas identified himself and sent several photos of his face.
The victim also said Pappas gave them his phone number, which the victim then provided to authorities.
After further investigation, authorities learned the phone number was registered to Pappas.
A search warrant was served to Discord on Sept. 24, 2025. When federal investigators reviewed Pappas’ Discord account, they found that he was having sexually explicit conversations with multiple people who identified their ages as between 12 and 17 years old.
In each of the conversations, federal authorities said Pappas asked them their ages, expressed sexual interest in children and asked for nude photos of the children.
The court documents went into a particular conversation Pappas allegedly had with a 12-year-old girl on Feb. 4, 2025.
In the chat, Pappas asked the girl how old she was, then proceeded to ask about her sexual history and if she ever took nude photos.
On June 21, 2025, Pappas and the 12-year-old girl allegedly engaged in sexually explicit conversations where he offered to pay for an Amazon gift card to help her purchase sex toys.
Federal authorities executed a search warrant at Pappas’ house on Oct. 22, 2025. A witness, whose identity is known to law enforcement, said two other children had previously complained that Pappas had sexually assaulted them.
On Oct. 23, 2025, authorities looked through Pappas’ phone and found the Discord account he allegedly used for sexually explicit conversations with children.
Within the conversations, Pappas allegedly told one victim to engage in sexual conduct with her 6-year-old cousin.
Investigators also found another chat in the accounts with a 17-year-old girl. Pappas allegedly asked the teen to send nude images of herself in exchange for money.
Federal charges
Pappas faces federal charges of sexual exploitation of a minor, coercion and enticement of a minor, receipt of child pornography and transfer of obscene material to a minor.
Previous convictions
According to court documents, Pappas was subject to an investigation in New Hampshire back in 2019. He allegedly engaged in several sexually explicit phone calls with a 13-year-old between Dec. 10, 2017, and Jan. 4, 2018. The victim told authorities that they often talked about sex and Pappas told her what he wanted to do to her.
Pappas also had a prior conviction from 2011 for one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct in Wayne County for sexually abusing a child. He is a registered sex offender for life in Michigan.
