Man accused of inappropriately touching child in restroom at Detroit restaurant, police say

Police seeking tips on person of interest

DETROIT – A man is accused of sexually assaulting a young girl inside the restroom at a Detroit restaurant, police said.

The girl and her family were at a restaurant in the 6800 block of Michigan Avenue at about 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025.

While inside, the girl went into the restroom, and a short time later, a man entered the restroom and “inappropriately touched the fully clothed child,” according to police.

The man then left the restaurant and fled the area on foot.

Police are looking for the person of interest, who is described as a 35-45-year-old man who is 5’10″ - 5’11″ tall with a heavy build.

He was wearing a red flannel shirt and black pants at the time of the assault.
