MONROE COUNTY, Mich. – A limo bus carrying Detroit teenagers to Cedar Point rolled several times on I-75 in Monroe County, sending 11 of the 15 passengers to hospitals.
Police said several passengers were thrown from the bus during the rollover.
Michigan State Police said the teens were traveling to Cedar Point as part of Detroit’s Community Violence Intervention Program.
Officials said one of the injured victims remains in critical condition.
Investigators revealed the 69-year-old driver did not have the proper license to operate the bus. Additionally, the company was not authorized to transport passengers.
Officials said the driver told police he does not remember what caused the crash.
Authorities said drugs and alcohol are not suspected in the incident.
