DETROIT – A Detroit man has been charged for allegedly shooting and killing a 15-year-old boy.

Terrell Epel Youngblood, 21, is accused of firing a handgun multiple times, killing a 15-year-old boy from Detroit, and leaving the scene.

The investigation began on Aug. 23, 2025, after Detroit police officers responded to a home in the 14800 block of Monte Vista for a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a 15-year-old boy near the Adam Butzel Recreational Center dead with a gunshot wound to his head.

The child was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

After further investigation, Youngblood was arrested on Oct. 31, 2025.

The 21-year-old was charged with second-degree murder, felony firearm and carrying a concealed weapon.

He was arraigned on Nov. 3 in the 36th District Court. His probable cause conference was scheduled for Nov. 10.
