DETROIT – A 34-year-old man is facing charges in connection with allegedly sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl at a McDonald’s in Detroit, officials said.
Joshua Joel-Eli Brown, of Detroit, has been charged with second-degree criminal sexual conduct (person under 13, defendant 17 years of age or older), according to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.

The sexual assault happened at about 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30, at the McDonald’s in the 6800 block of Michigan Avenue.
Brown allegedly followed a 5-year-old girl, also of Detroit, into the women’s restroom and “had inappropriate sexual contact” with her, before fleeing the scene, according to the prosecutor’s office.
He is expected to be arraigned on Wednesday, Nov. 5.
“The Detroit Police Department did an excellent job investigating and apprehending the defendant,” said Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy. “This case illustrates why we must remain vigilant when it comes to our children.”
