DETROIT – Detroit voters have elected the city’s first-ever woman mayor.

It took an hour and 12 minutes for Mary Sheffield to be declared the winner after the polls closed Tuesday night.

To break down the election results, Orlando Bailey, executive director of Outlier Media, Sheila Cockrel, a former Detroit City Council member and longtime political consultant and Mario Marrow of Mario Marrow and Associates joined Local 4 for a roundtable discussion.
