Free carbon monoxide detectors available at Southfield giveaway event

Goodman Acker and Southfield Fire Department team up to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Goodman Acker, a Michigan personal injury law firm, is partnering with the Southfield Fire Department to give away 500 carbon monoxide detectors to local families.

The event is happening Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the Southfield Fire Station located at 24477 Lahser Road.

The giveaway is part of Goodman Acker’s Protect & Prevent Project, which aims to keep Michigan families safe by providing important safety tools and information.

Carbon monoxide poisoning is a serious issue, especially in the colder months.

Last year, Michigan saw 481 confirmed cases and over 30 deaths -- all mostly preventable with early detection.

Detectors will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis.
