Oakland University’s campus is set to close for more than a week for emergency repairs.
The campus will be closed from 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, through 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30, so crews can repair a high-temperature hot water pipe system that serves several facilities, according to an email the university sent out on Nov. 10.

Scheduled classes will be canceled during this closure, but PACE online classes and clinical classes that happen off campus will not be affected.
According to the university, faculty members may conduct their classes virtually during the closure. If this happens, faculty must provide students with make-up material in an appropriate format. Lab sections can be rescheduled with advance notice.
Most university offices will be closed, and only essential operations will continue during this time period, according to the university.
Faculty and staff, unless specifically instructed otherwise, are not required to work from Monday, November 24, through Wednesday, November 26.
Students who live in University Housing have been instructed to check their emails for more information.
If there is a pipe system failure before the closure begins, the university said any plans for immediate repairs will be shared with the campus community.
“The university appreciates the cooperation and understanding of the campus community as it works to maintain critical university infrastructure,” university officials said in an email.
