EASTPOINTE, Mich. – The preliminary hearing of a woman accused of stabbing her manager to death at a McDonald’s in Eastpointe was paused due to fighting.
The hearing has since resumed, but the family of the victim is not allowed inside after the altercations.

Afeni Badu Muhammad, 27, of Eastpointe, who was charged in the death of 39-year-old Jennifer Harris, returned to court Friday, Nov. 14.
Before the hearing even started, the judge noted a verbal altercation between family members of the victim, resulting in some being removed.
During the presentation of graphic video evidence, a relative reportedly left the courtroom and attempted to bring a knife inside.
Prosecutors said she went to her car and retrieved two knives. Another relative was able to take one from the girl, but she was able to bring the other into the courthouse, where police tackled and handcuffed her.
The judge ordered the rest of the victim’s family to leave the courthouse and barred them from watching the remainder of the hearing.
