WEST BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A man in West Bloomfield has been taken into custody after reportedly shooting a gun into a neighbor’s home during a mental health crisis.
It happened at about 9:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 24, at a home on Coach Lane, near the intersection of 14 Mile Road and Northwestern Highway.

According to authorities, the West Bloomfield Police Department received a 911 call from a woman who reported her husband was having a breakdown, was wearing body armor and had fired a gun into the neighbor’s home.

First responders reportedly found the man behaving erratically in the yard and used a taser to subdue him when he resisted officers.
He was taken into custody.
Police said the man had walked across the street to his neighbor’s house, broke a window and fired several rounds into the house. While there were people inside the home at the time, no one was struck or injured.
