SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – A man has been arrested and charged after a girl saw a hand holding a cellphone while she was inside a restroom stall at a store in Oakland County last month, police said.
Dale Frye, 45, of Detroit, has been charged with capturing/distributing images of an unclothed person and using computers to commit a crime, according to the Southfield Police Department.
He was issued a $30,000 cash/surety bond and is scheduled to appear in court again on Dec. 8, 2025.
The girl and her mother were at the Michaels store at 28550 Telegraph Road in Southfield on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025.
While they were at the store, they used the restroom and went into separate stalls.
The girl said that while she was in one of the stalls, she saw a hand above her holding a cellphone and taking photos of her, police said.
She shouted for her mom and said the hand belonged to a man wearing black sleeves and white shoes.
Police said the man had entered the store at 7:36 p.m. and then left at 7:41 p.m.
