PORT HURON, Mich. – A 39-year-old woman from Port Huron is facing multiple charges after reportedly leading law enforcement on a chase across two counties.
According to authorities, deputies with the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office spotted a car with no license plate in Kimball Township just after midnight on Nov. 21. They attempted a traffic stop, but the driver reportedly sped off.

Law enforcement reportedly chased the vehicle through Clyde and Grant townships before it entered Sanilac County. Authorities said the driver repeatedly crossed into oncoming traffic.
The chase came to an end when the driver reportedly crashed into a tree in Worth Township.
Virginia Smith was taken into custody and charged with second-degree fleeing, two counts of resisting and obstructing, operating while intoxicated, reckless driving and open alcohol in vehicle.
She was denied bond.
