HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. – A 13-year-old boy was shot and killed in Highland Park.
The shooting occurred on Tuesday (Nov. 25) near Woodard Avenue and Manchester Street around 3:45 p.m.

Highland Park police Investigator Everett Monroe II, assigned to the chief of police office, said officers found the 13-year-old in a parking lot, who was taken to the hospital, but later died from his injuries.
Monroe II said the scene remained fluid, and details were limited to avoid hindering the investigation.
The case has been turned over to the Michigan State Police, who are now leading the investigation.
Monroe II said the crime scene covers a large area, including apartment buildings and across the street, as authorities work to determine the full scope.
Police do not currently have information on suspects or the number of people involved.

Monroe II described the scene as chaotic, with efforts focused on identifying who was involved.
