Pontiac man found shot to death inside pickup truck, suspect in custody

PONTIAC, Mich. – A Pontiac man was arrested for allegedly shooting and killing a man Saturday night.

Deputies from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office were out on patrol on Nov. 29 when they spotted a pickup truck equipped with a salt spreader stopped in the middle of Karen Court, just south of Hopkins Avenue, at around 7:30 p.m.

Deputies then found the driver, Antonio Jason Craig, 52, of Pontiac, unresponsive inside the truck. They tried to save Craig, but authorities said he had multiple gunshot wounds.

Detectives identified a potential suspect, a 26-year-old Pontiac man, and authorities tracked the suspect and stopped the car he was a passenger in. They arrested him just after 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 29 in the parking lot of a Waterford Township restaurant.

According to the sheriff’s office, detectives are expected to turn the case over to prosecutors for charges as soon as Tuesday.
