YPSILANTI, MI – Atlanta Falcons wide receiver K.J. Osborn returned to his hometown Ypsilanti to provide rent assistance for a family in need.
Osborn paid the full remaining rent balance for a family of three living in Schooner Cove Apartments on Dec. 8, 2025. The check given to the family totaled $4,269.
Upon meeting the family at Schooner Cove Apartments, Osborn alongside his mother and sister shared a story of receiving rent assistance when they lived in the same exact unit as the family they’re helping.
Osborn’s mother came up with the idea to pay it forward and do the same thing that was done for them through the K.J. Osborn Foundation.
“This was done for me,” said Osborn. “It makes my heart warm to be able to do it to another family, specifically in the apartment that I grew up in. It was some tough times around those times so it’s special for me to come back in my community, to shake hands, to laugh and to show people that I’m a normal person just like me and you."
Osborn has routinely given back to his hometown and is grateful to be able to do so. He hopes to inspire the community through his NFL career and philanthropic works.
"I want to give hope," said Osborn. “I have a heart for restoration.
“I lived in the same apartment as these people. I walked the schools of Lincoln High School. I am from Ypsilanti, Michigan. I would like to say that the Lord has blessed me to do some great things and to be able to give back. I want to give hope and motivation to the young kid in Ford Lake Landing, to the young kid in Schooner Cove, to the young kid at Ypsi High School, at Ypsi Lincoln, to the family, to the single mother that that grew up and is struggling, that there is another side to it. That if you stay faithful, if you work hard, if you stay disciplined, there is another side to it. The Lord hears and He provides and you know He’ll make a way for you."
Osborn also gives back by hosting his annual youth football camp at his former high school, Ypsilanti Lincoln.
