OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that 45-year-old Lemuel Young of Sterling Heights waived his preliminary exam and was bound over to Macomb County Circuit Court on charges of felonious assault.
On Dec. 11, 2025, a probable cause conference was held at 41A District Court.
Defense counsel requested a reduction of Young’s $10,000 cash or surety bond, but an assistant prosecuting attorney objected, and the court agreed.
The bond matter was referred to Community Corrections for review and recommendation.
Young’s arraignment is scheduled for Dec. 29, 2025, at 1:30 p.m.
The incident occurred Dec. 4, 2025, at Bemis Jr. High School in Sterling Heights.
Vehicles were blocking the bus lane when the school safety officer asked Young to move his vehicle.
Young refused and moved forward, striking the officer’s legs.
The principal arrived to assist and also asked Young to move, but Young struck him three times with the vehicle.
Neither victim suffered serious injury.
