A strong storm system is expected to impact Metro Detroit later this week, bringing rain, snow and gusty winds to the region.

On Monday, Dec. 15, 2025, there will be light snow showers throughout mid-morning, with some light accumulation possible in areas to our north.

Here’s what to know about the snow that’s expected to move through the region later this week:

Snow forecast

Rain is expected in Metro Detroit on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025, before transitioning to snow overnight and into Friday.

Temperatures are expected to drop nearly 20 degrees overnight, going from the upper 40s to the upper 20s, and we could see slick roads Friday morning.

Strong winds are also expected as this storm system moves through the area.
