Car fire closes EB I-94 near 8 Mile for several hours
Freeway closed since 1:30 a.m.
WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – A stretch of eastbound I-94 was closed early Wednesday morning due to a car fire.
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) reported the freeway closure just after 1:30 a.m. on Dec. 17.
MDOT reported that eastbound I-94 is closed at Allard Avenue, but traffic was being diverted as far as 8 Mile and 9 Mile Road.
Local 4 was at the scene and saw first responders remove a body from the car.
The freeway reopened at around 6:30 a.m.
