Kimball Township man charged with murder after bike path stabbing

68-year-old victim passed away from injuries weeks after attack

A 60-year-old Kimball Township man has been charged with murder following a stabbing on a local bike path. (WDIV)

KIMBALL TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 60-year-old Kimball Township man has been charged with murder following a stabbing on a local bike path.

Police said on Oct. 12, an altercation between Robert Barr, 60, and the 68-year-old victim from Port Huron resulted in the victim being stabbed.

The victim did not call 911 immediately, but made his own way to the hospital.

Barr called police after returning home to report the incident.

The victim died from his injuries on Oct. 28, 2025, at the hospital.

On Dec. 16, 2025, Barr was arrested and charged with murder.

He was arraigned in the 72nd District Court, where bond was set at $250,000
